The Lost World - Jurassic Park (1997)

The Lost World - Jurassic Park The basic story
In order to create the technology used for Jurassic Park, Jim Hammond had to start his work on another island, known as Site B. After the disaster in Jurassic Park, the island and the dinosaurs have been left alone to find a natural equilibrium. However, after a family going ashore on the island for a picnic was attached by the dinosaurs, Hammond fears that the dinosaurs will be exploited, and before this happens, he want a team on the island to document the dinosaurs in a natural environment.

InGen, the company behind the dinosaur technology, however, has other plans. They want to capture dinosaurs for an amusement park, so they send in another team at the same time.

And so, the dangerous work starts.

How was it?
I thought it was crap! For two teams of professionals they act like imbeciles. The movie feels like an excuse for showing people getting killed by dinosaurs. An excuse for milking the success of the first movie.

As a movie adaption, it is even worse. As a movie adaption, I would only give the movie one star. Apart from a few elements, e.g. the title, the movie is nothing like the books. The book is excellent, but this is hardly a movie adaption of the book.

The basic idea of the movie is fine, it's just the execution that sucks. Some of the hunting sequences are nice, and the CGI dinosaurs work really well. For the most part, though, the movie is crap.
