Kingsman. The Secret Service (2014)

Kingsman. The Secret Service The basic story
The megalomaniac Richard Valentine is planning to wipe out most of mankind, using a new type of weapon and a devious plan. On the job, trying to figure out what Valentine is doing, while trying to survive, are agents from the secret service named Kingsman. Harry Heart is the second agent on the job.

While trying to save the World, Harry Heart is also trying to help the young man Eggsy get out of his troubles with the law and out of the slum. This is done by putting Eggsy though training to become a Kingsman agent.

How was it?
Highly entertaining spy movie. Seeing Colin Firth as a bad ass super spy was a strange but great experience. Lots of cool gadgets, and action sequences connected by an interesting story with quite a few clever elements. Especially Eggsy's training had some interesting surprises.

Being a Mark Millar story, the funny parts changes between outrageous, clever and juvenile, and you never really know what to expect. It was interesting to notice that they didn't do the usual nods and homages to other action movies but just concentrated on telling the story. It was a nice change.

The movie is not like the comic book, so don't buy the comic, expecting to read the movie or vice versa. The two stories have a lot of similarities, and they are excellent each in their own way, but they are not the same story.
