Larry Crowne (2011)

Larry Crowne The basic story
Larry Crowne is a pleasant, single man, working at U-Mart, and quite content with his life. As the recession hits, and the store has to downsize, Larry is fired. As he has no college education, he cannot advance, and by company standard he is considered obsolete.

After trying to get another job for a while, without any luck, Larry decides to go to college. Here he meets a lot of young people inspiring him to move on with his life, and he meets the cranky and disillusioned teacher Mercedes, who has lost her passion for teaching and life in general. As the first year attending college progress, Larry's positive attitude towards life starts to rub of on Mercedes, and her life starts changing as well.

How was it?
I liked it. It wasn't an outstanding story in any way, but still, it had a lot nice moments and entertaining ideas. For the most part, you know where the story is going and how it's going to end, but Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts make the characters come to life, making it a pleasant ride.

Basically it is a story about reinventing yourself and finding happiness and your place in life.
