The basic story
Clay is back in Hollywood. He is now a writer, and while working on a film script he is trying to track down some of his friends from back when he was a young man.


How was it?
Mediocre. Way better than Less than Zero. Think of it as Less than Zero with an actual story. Not a lot of story, but still... Ellis writing style is still good, still a lot of pages with sex and drugs, Hollywood is still not a nice place... It's the kind of book you can read if you like reading about depraved people. Personally I was not offended, not impressed and only slightly entertained.
