Here Comes the Boom (2012)
The basic storyScott Voss is a biology teacher, who has more or less given up on trying to teach his students anything. Then one day, the school decides to cut down on some of the school's extracurricular activities, due to financial problems, and Scott decides to try to raise money to save the music teacher's job, and thereby the school band.
That same evening, he sees an MMA fight on TV, and when realizing that the fighters will make money whether they win or loose a fight, he decide to raise the money by fighting. As he used to be a wrestler in high school, Scott decides to try making money by fighting in mixed martial art. Apart from the pain from being hit during the fights, the fighting also has an unexpected effect on his teaching and romantic endeavors.
How was it?
Slightly corny and okay entertainment for an evening where you just want some light entertainment.
The story moves along nicely, more or less without any surprises. It does have a few good laughs, and for those who haven't seen it, it is worth spending the time watching, but it is not the kind of movie you want to watch over and over again.
