Story: Troy Hickenbottom was imprisoned in Greenville Federal Correctional Facility on July 22, 1994, when his cellmate Leo who had taught himself to focus energy accidentally gave Troy superpowers instead of himself. For some unknown reason it gave him the looks and powers of his comic book idol Superion [1]. With his newfound powers he escaped prison and looked up Wendy who was with another guy. While Troy was on his way, Wendy was infused with the same type of energy as Troy, giving her the superpowers and looks of the comic book character Afterglow [2].

When he found Wendy, he disposed of her new boyfriend (i.e. killed him) and wanted to stay with her [2]. In the following days they tried to adjust to their new powers, but instead ended getting on each other's nerves and start fighting [3-4]. After a short while Troy became too violent and dangerous and had to be stopped which Wendi did by breaking both his legs and hand him over to the police [5].
