Story: Val Armorr joined the Legion of Super-Heroes along with Nemesis Kid, Ferro Lad and Princess Projectra [Adventure Comics #346]. Nemesis Kid being a traitor, caused some turmoil in the Legion and Karate Kid was suspected of being the traitor. Nemesis Kid was however revealed as the traitor partially because of Karate Kid [Adventure Comics #347].

When Nemesis Kid became the leader of the Legion of Super-Villains in 2984, he decided to get his own world somewhere without a Legion of Super-Heroes. For this purpose he selected the planet Orando. He and his Legion conquered Orando [Legion of Super-Heroes (1984 series) #2], and moved the planet into Limbo between dimensions [Legion of Super-Heroes (1984 series) #3]. His plans were foiled when Karate Kid broke out of his shackles an freed the other prisoners. In the subsequent fight between Karate Kid and Nemesis Kid, Nemesis Kid killed Karate Kid. With his dying breath Karate Kid did one final heroic deed, and destroyed one of the power spheres used to steal Orando [Legion of Super-Heroes (1984 series) #4]. Karate Kid's wife Queen Projectra fought him right after, and killed him with her bare hands [Legion of Super-Heroes (1984 series) #5].
