Story: For a while, Jade's powers didn't work. In that period she carried a Green Lantern ring which she got from her boyfriend Kyle Rayner. While she was a Green Lantern she did not use the name Green Lantern. Kyle restored her powers when be became Ion, and she stopped using the Green Lantern ring [Green Lantern 2nd series].

When the Rann-Thanagar war broke out, Jade joined Donna Troy's team trying to stop the war [Rann-Thanagar War mini-series]. During the war, Alexander Luthor tried to rip the cosmos apart in order to recreate his own continuity that had vanished during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Along with Kyle she succeeded in closing the hole in the universe, but at the cost of her life. Her body already dead, her soul imprinted in the energy she had received from Kyle transferred itself back to him, making him Ion once again [Rann-Thanagar War Infinite Crisis Special #1].

A year after her death, JSA was fighting Jim Craddock, the Gentleman Ghost. In an attempt to understand the enemy Jakeem Thunder asked Thunderbolt to take him to where the ghosts live. Here he met Jade along with a lot of other dead heroes. In the fight that followed, Jade was drawn to the land of the living as her father had been injured in the fight with Craddock. Using his ring as a portal she was able to gain access to the world of the living for a few moments for a final goodbye to her father [JSA #85]

Skills & abilities: Jade wields a green energy similar to the one in the Green Lantern rings. Like the Green Lanterns, the energy is controlled by will, but in her, the power is a part of a mutation in her chromosomes instead of a ring. The energy can be used to form energy structures and enables her to fly.
Equipment: For a time, while her own powers didn't work, Jade used a Green Lantern ring.
