Story: Supergirl first encountered the Legion of Super-Heroes when the children of the original founders visited her (retconned into being the real founders in [Action Comics #276]). She was supposed to join the Legion as she won the competition to become a member, but exposure to red kryptonite made her grown up and she was rejected due to the 18 years age limit [Action Comics #267]. The following year she was contacted again by the Legion. This time she also won the competition, and was accepted into the Legion of Super-Heroes [Action Comics #276].
