Story: Moby Duck is a whaler traveling the Seven Seas with his best friend Porpy and his shipmate Dim-Witty. Despite being a whaler, Moby has never been seen capturing whales but has saved whales on several occasions. Mostly he is using his ship for cargo and transporting other people like Uncle Scrooge or Gyro Gearloose on their adventures.

Background notes: The name Moby Duck is a pun on Moby Dick, the whale in Herman Melville's novel Moby Dick. Besides his appearances in Donald Duck and Walt Disney Showcase, Moby Dick also had his own series from Gold Key. The series lasted 30 issues from 1967-1970. Moby only appeared once in cartoons. This was in The Wonderful World of Disney episode 365, Pacifically Peeking (1968). Moby's voice was done by Paul Frees.
