Story: Only very little was revealed about Gregory Goyle. He started at Hogwarts in 1992, at the same time as Harry Potter. Here he was selected for the Slytherin House and teamed up with Draco Malfoy and Vincent Crabbe [1]. He stayed with the two, for the whole time he was at the school.

In his fifth year Goyle was made a Beater on the Slytherin Quidditch team, where it appears he did reasonably well. Though it was never specified, he most likely also became a member of Dolores Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad, as both Crabbe and Malfoy were members and he was always with those two [2].

In his seventh year at Hogwarts, Goyle excelled at using the Cruciatus Curse to torture students who had been put in detention. He was last seen, when he, Malfoy, and Crabbe met Harry, Ron, and Hermione searching for Voldemort's diadem Horcrux shortly before the Battle of Hogwarts. In the fight that took place in the Room of Requirement Crabbe used a Fiendfyre spell which killed himself and nearly also Malfoy and Goyle [3].

There are no records regarding what happened to Goyle after the fight, but it must be assumed he survived, and like Malfoy he most likely also avoided punishment for siding with Voldemort.
