Story: Lar Gand along with the rest of batch SW6 was the result of a genetic experiment by the Dominion working for Earthgov. A detonation in the atmosphere above Metropolis opened the pods where SW6 were held and the legionnaires found themselves lying naked on the floor believing they were 17 years in the future [Legion of Super-Heroes (1989 series) #24 +25].

While trying to figure out what had happened, they were found by the reporter Devlin O'Ryan, who took them outside and tried to fill them in on what had happened in the time they were missing [Legion of Super-Heroes (1989 series) #25]. At the time, the Dominion was starting an invasion on Earth, and the SW6 batch started fighting them along with the rebels [Legion of Super-Heroes (1989 series) #27]. The Dominion was defeated [Legion of Super-Heroes (1989 series) #35], but at the loss of three of the SW6 legionnaires [Legion of Super-Heroes (1989 series) #32].

Brainiac 5 (both of them) was unable to find out which one of the teams that was the original heroes and which ones were the clones, and one of the options was to send one of the legionnaires back in time to 2978 to find clues as to who and what they were. With the time stream being unsafe at the time, Lar Gand was the only one with a chance of surviving the trip, so he was sent back in a time bubble. Something however went wrong [Legion of Super-Heroes (1989 series) #37].


Skills & abilities: Superspeed, superstrength, laser vision, x-ray vision, supersenses, and invulnerability to anything but lead.
