Story: Reporter Rebecca Halley wanted to expose Brigade and Battlestone as sociopaths and ruthless killers. In order to infiltrate Brigade she went thru a series of genetic augmentation treatments under the supervision of Dr. Luke McMullen in the Youngblood program [2].

Just after deciding not to do the story on Brigade, she was exposed by Boone, who had been forced to betray Brigade [2]. In the aftermath of Battlestone's disappearance, where he was believed to be dead, the remaining members of Brigade were at loss at what to do with Thermal. The decision was never taken as Crypt attacked Brigade, killing most of its members, including Thermal [3]

Note: An out-of-continuity story show Kayo, Coldsnap and Thermal to be alive [4].
