Background notes: With the popularity of the Beagle Boys, an extension of the concept was inevitable. One of the extensions were the Beagle Brats who first appeared in Walt Disney Comics and Stories #299 from 1965. In the 1960s and 1970s, the characters were used on a regular basis, but after this the appearance of the kids became increasingly sparse. From the 1980s forward, it is also noteworthy, that the majority of the stories has been produced in Italy and Brazil. Last record so far is from 2003, but most likely they will reappear at some point.

The characters were created by Tony Strobl and a yet unknown writer. Vic Locman was the writer on the following stories, with Strobl as the artist, making him the most likely co-creator. The three boys are indistinguishable, like most other siblings in the Disney Universe, and like most of the Beagle Boys, they only have numbers, in this case 1, 2, and 3.

While the characters have been around for more than 40 years, it appears they have never been used for anything outside comics. When the Beagle Boys were adapted for the series DuckTales, a character named Babyface Beagle was created, but he is not one of the Beagle Brats.
